Jammu And Kashmir: Indian Army Decimated Pakistan BAT Team

Indian army decimated Pakistan BAT team and killed five to seven intruders.

The Indian army said that on the night of 31st July, it disrupted an attempt of Pakistan army. Indian Army decimated Pakistan BAT team (border action team). This happened in Keran sector, Jammu and Kashmir.

Indian Army has successfully stopped an attack by Pakistan’s Border Action Team on a forward post. It happened in the sector of keran, Jammu and Kashmir. During the fire, Indian army decimated Pakistan BAT team, five to seven intruders along a thermal power plant, according to a defence spokesman.

After the Pulwana suicide car bombing which took place back on 14 february in which 40 CRPF Jawans were killed. This is the first major infiltration attempt since then.

“Soldiers [Indian Army] foiled the attempt inflicting heavy casualties on the infiltrating BAT team,”an Army official said.

Basically, Border Action Team (BAT) are small units which consists of Pakistani special forces and militants. Their main purpose is to conduct raids across the Line of Control (LoC).

“Four bodies of Pakistani (SSG) commandos or terrorists is located on the Indian side of the Line of Control in close proximity of Indian posts,” Army sources said.

A day after the encounter with Pakistan’s BAT. Indian army has asked Pakistan to take back the bodies of five BAT intruders. These five intruders has died while trying to snoop inside LOC.

The Pakistani Army has been offered to approach with white flags and take the bodies for last rites.

Pakistan is yet to respond.

Meanwhile, J&K was put on high alert on Friday, asking pilgrims and tourist to return asap although the advisory came right after the Army said, there are confirmed intelligence reports that terrorists backed by  the Pakistan Army are trying to disrupt the Amarnath Yatra
